California Poppies growing in profusion on a hillside overlooking the Pacific coast. An idyllic scene to be sure. But, they remain for only a few short weeks in Spring and then, only when enough rain has fallen. Soon Summer will arrive and the hills will turn first, to green, then, a drab gray/brown. A scene like this must be captured when found for as the title of this piece reminds, Spring is but a moment.
